Winter 2013

It was amazing to have Kenneth Copeland’s grandson Jeremy Pearsons and his wife Sarah, share their perspectives on hearing, speaking and living, which was the theme of the Faith Conference at Refuel Church on November 30, December 1st and 2nd, 2012. Jeremy was the keynote speaker and Sarah served as worship leader.

“It is surprising to find that many Christians believe in Jesus, but do not believe that He actually cares. People falsely believe that Jesus is too busy for their problems or too busy to offer help, especially when we haven’t been faithful in attending Church, reading the Bible and praying,” says Pastor Ricardo Rios of Refuel, which reaches out primarily to young people in Toronto and Mississauga.

Jeremy Pearsons challenged the congregation with important questions like, “Who cares about you? Who cares about your circumstances? Who cares about your family or the food on your table? Who cares about your health?” He provided the only correct answers that can be given by a believer: “Jesus does”!

“You have no idea how much you are loved by your Father and His Son, Jesus. The big revelation is here: I will cast my cares on Him the moment I realize how much He cares for me,” says Jeremy, referencing John 3:16, where we learn that we are so loved. In 1 Peter 5:7, the Bible says that we should cast all our cares upon Him, for He cares for us.

Jeremy said that Jesus is our caretaker. He cares for us, our circumstances, family and health. “If you are doing all the caring, He can’t care for you. It’s either all in His hands or all in yours. It cannot be grace and work,” he said, adding that Jesus has asked us to trust Him and enter His rest.
The conference expounded on the fact that if it is all done through our work, there is toil and sorrow. It is not about us. It is about Jesus, what He has done, and what He can do! “He is able to do exceedingly, more than we ask or imagine,” says Jeremy, quoting Ephesians 3:20.

“The mission and vision of Refuel Church is simple: Jesus, People, and Life. Love Jesus, love His people and live the life He has given to the fullest (1 John 10:10),” says Pastor Ricardo, who believes that when you know Jesus, you will love Him, trust Him and He will come through in your time of need. Before you know it, you will fall in love with people and will be excited to share Jesus with the world around you.
